SicurEX.5112™ FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS
|
EXTINGUISHING METHOD
FK-5-1-12 extinguishes a fire primarily through heat absorption. The gaseous mixture created when FK-5-1-12 discharges into air has a much higher heat capacity than air alone. The gaseous mixture absorbs large amounts of heat due to the high heat capacity and extinguishes fires by sufficiently cooling the combustion zone. It is important to note, FK-5-1-12 does not use the depletion of oxygen to extinguish a fire. |
SICUREX is committed to secure at least one pertinent and internationally recognized third party accreditation (specifically, VdS) with respect to the Systems, products, and services that SICUREX provides that utilize the original FK-5-1-12 Fluid and to sell and make available the original FK-5-1-12 Fluid only in strict compliance with such accreditations and internationally recognized standards such as NFPA, and in Europe the EN-15004 and the international ISO 14520 standard.

The original FK-5-1-12 Fire Protection Fluid The original FK-5-1-12 Fire Protection fluid is a fluid that acts like water, looks like water, and flows like water, but does not get things wet in the same way as water. When discharged from a fire apparatus, it converts to a gas, due to its thermodynamic properties and suppresses fire when used at its extinguishing concentration to remove heat. It is used to extinguish fires as part of Automatic fire suppression systems, especially in facilities housing electronic equipment and will not damage electronics in the way that water will. The original FK-5-1-12 is a fluorinated ketone with the systematic IUPAC name 1,1,1,2,2,4,5,5,5-nonafluoro-4-(trifluoromethyl)-3-pentanone and the structural formula CF3CF2C(=O)CF(CF3)2, a fully-fluorinated analog of ethyl isopropyl ketone. Business continuity and downtime is critical! Our fire extinguishing systems use the latest technology in very early warning smoke detection in conjunction with clean agent fire suppression to help protect your business's mission critical applications. Many of our systems are people-safe and use environmentally responsible clean agents; there is no mess from water or chemical powders to clean up afterwards.
